U.S. Options

The MIAX Options Exchange has published an updated Specification for the MIAX Express Interface (MEI) to support Single Side Liquidity Protection (SSP) mechanism.

  • Added new message types to support Single Side Liquidity Protection mechanism
    • Single Side Liquidity Protection Notification message
    • Single Side Liquidity Protection Reset Request message
    • Single Side Liquidity Protection Reset Response message
  • Added new reason code in the existing Quote response and eQuote response messages for rejection of Quotes and eQuotes due to Single Side Liquidity Protection being in effect.
  • Added new reason code in the existing Cancel Notification message for cancellation of Quotes due to Single Side Liquidity Protection trigger.

Important Dates:

• Firm Test Bed 2 (FTB2) will be available on November 13, 2017.
• Production rollout is scheduled for 1st quarter 2018, subject to SEC approval. Specific date will be announced in a future alert.
