MIAX Options and MIAX Pearl Options - Announce planned network changes related to shared 10G ULL extranet

MIAX Options and MIAX Pearl Options are planning to discontinue the current 10G ULL shared extranet access and will begin providing separate dedicated MIAX Options and Pearl Options 10G ULL extranets. The target date is January, 2023 (pending filing with the SEC).
 
Objective:
The objective of the change is to increase port availability across the 10G ULL firm access switches for MIAX Options and Pearl Options while maintaining highly deterministic network performance. The current 1G LL shared access extranet will remain unchanged.
 
What Firms need to do:

  1. For current shared extranet 10G ULL Cross Connect (CC) subscribers solely accessing Pearl Options interfaces and market data feeds: CCs will migrate to a new Pearl Options dedicated extranet edge network on the cutover date. No logical or physical changes are required by subscribers. Subscribers will need to conduct connectivity testing following the implementation.
  2. For current shared extranet 10G ULL CC subscribers solely accessing MIAX Options interfaces and market data feeds: CCs will remain in place thereby constituting the MIAX Options dedicated extranet edge network following the cutover. No logical or physical changes are required of the subscribers. Subscribers will need to conduct connectivity testing following the implementation.
  3. For current shared extranet 10G ULL CC subscribers accessing both MIAX Options and Pearl Options: subscribers can choose from two options:
  • CC subscribers can establish additional 10G ULL cross connects to the new MIAX Pearl Options dedicated extranet edge prior to the cutover date to access MIAX Pearl Options upon implementation. Subscribers can use existing 10G ULL CCs for use with the MIAX Options dedicated extranet edge. Subscribers will need to conduct connectivity testing following the implementation.
Or
  • CC subscribers can establish additional 10G ULL CCs to the new MIAX Options dedicated extranet edge prior to the cutover date to access MIAX Options upon implementation. Existing CCs will be migrated to the new MIAX Pearl Options dedicated extranet edge upon implementation. Subscribers will need to conduct connectivity testing following the implementation.

The timeline is as follows:

  • CC subscribers should contact MIAX Trading Operations by September 16, 2022 to coordinate CC selections.
  • CC provisioning requests related to network changes should be submitted beginning October 3, 2022.  All requests should be submitted by November 18, 2022.
  • The target date for cutover to separate dedicated MIAX Options and MIAX Pearl Options 10G ULL extranets is after market close on Friday, January 20, 2023 (pending filing with the SEC).
  • Mandatory connectivity testing will occur on Saturday, January 21, 2023, for all subscribed interfaces and multicast market data feeds for MIAX Options and MIAX Pearl Options CCs.
