MIAX Options - Reminder: Phase 4 of NY4 Data Center Migration and Latency Equalization

As previously communicated in the June 30, 2016 MIAX Options Alert, the MIAX will commence the fourth phase of its data center relocation by migrating connections for those who have established new cross connects in the new NY4 cage and implement latency equalization.  The migration will commence after trading hours on Friday, September 16, 2016 for trading on Monday, September 19, 2016.  Additional details can be found in the attachment from the June 30, 2016 alert.

The latency equalized ULL network transport options will be engineered to a lower latency than the existing non-latency equalized options. Participants remaining on the existing MENI network will experience an additional 1.6 microsecond latency above that which will be available via the latency equalized network infrastructure. Latency sensitive participants should plan to have latency equalized connectivity in place on Day One of its availability.  Firm connectivity via equalized cross connect will exhibit consistent round trip fiber latency of ~3.048 microseconds regardless of NY4 proximity.

The new MIAX data center architecture incorporates all of the same design principals and technology of the original infrastructure with regards to reliability and predictability, however has been scaled accordingly for increased capacity to accommodate membership growth and additional MIAX exchange based platforms.

While not mandatory, system testing is encouraged and will be available on Friday, September 16, 2016 between 5:30 PM and 11:00 PM.
