MIAX Options Interface Specification Updates to Support Complex Orders (MEI, FOI, FXD, AIS & MOR)

MIAX Options has published updated Interface Specifications to support Complex Orders for the following:

  • MIAX Express Interface (MEI) (Required change)
    • Complex eQuote - Changed BMO to IOC in field eQuote Type
  • FIX Order Interface (FOI) (Required change)
    • MsgType “AB” - tag 9018 removed BMO
    • MsgType “AB” - tag 204 identified MIAX Market Maker as a future phase
    • MsgType “AB” - tags 109 and 440 identified as future phase
    • Removed BMO from Appendix B: Order Type and Instructions
  • MIAX FIX Drop Copy Port (FXD) (Required change)
    • MsgType 8 – removed BMO from tag 9018
  • Administrative Information Subscriber Feed (AIS) (Definitional change)
    • Update the Free Trading – Complex Strategy Auction (Event Type ‘C’) in Appendix C
  • MIAX Order Feed (MOR) (Required change)
    • Complex Order Message  - Removed value “4 = Market Maker” from Origin field.


All specifications are currently available for review at MIAX Options Interface Specifications.

The activation of Complex Orders is pending SEC approval.  The production rollout schedule will be announced via future MIAX Regulatory Circular.

  • Interface updates are currently available in the MIAX Firm Test Bed #2 (FTB2) environment.
