MIAX Options - Announcement of Network Backbone Upgrades and Introduction of a 10G Ultra Low Latency Connectivity Offering

Network Backbone Upgrade

MIAX is currently in the process of upgrading key data center backbone devices and paths from multiple 10G to 40G connections.  As a result, all MIAX Options Exchange participants, service bureaus and extranets will realize improved application response times for both connection-oriented and non-connection oriented services due to a decrease in network flight time.  The backbone upgrades should be transparent to existing customers and will not require any configuration changes to existing customer equipment.  All customers should experience typical round-trip latency improvement in the 13-18% range.  This upgrade is expected to be completed by late 3rd quarter 2015.

10G Ultra Low Latency Connectivity Offering

MIAX is pleased to announce the addition and launch of our new 10G Ultra Low Latency (10G ULL) connectivity option to our portfolio of MIAX Express Network Interconnect (MENI) proximity service offerings in the NY4 and NY2 data centers.  The new connectivity offering provides enhanced flexibility and choice in order to meet a wider range of high performance network requirements and is available to all MIAX participants.

Important Dates:

  • MIAX expects 10G Ultra Low Latency connectivity to be available in production on Monday, October 5, 2015
  • 10G Ultra Low Latency connection orders must be placed by Friday, September, 11, 2015,  to ensure availability for initial testing and production dates
  • Connectivity testing will be offered on Saturday, September 19, 2015,  Saturday, September 26, 2015, and Saturday, October 3, 2015.
  • Orders received after September 11th will be processed on a best-effort basis for completion prior to the testing and production dates
